In all the things you should never start a blog post like this out with a negative but one of the most frightening things I have heard is that DJ’s either don’t show up but when they do show up they turn on a playlist and walk outside a smoke while no one is dancing or interacting at least with a head nod or bob. Either way the DJ didn’t show up!
All my events are contracted down to the rundown of the day. I have created a format that I follow for all wedding we have done so far. It is tweaked for all the events but it seems to work. Most of the weddings there is no hired wedding coordinator, but maybe the Made of Honor or the brides sister or best friend.

It seams that most weddings the focus is so much on the food, flowers and the dress most consider the music for that special day to be “an after thought” and that is why I feel that the DJ’s are allowed to arrive and still not show up!
From the minute that we are contacted or contracted we get right to work on your special day, in this case lets talk weddings.
Once the contract is signed I begin to work on the rundown by supplying the bride with a worksheet. This worksheet asks questions about how she would prefer the day to “Flow”. If we are doing the ceremony production to, it would include questions to put together a timed production rundown so that DJ OXB could control the day with out anyone music and announcement ques so that everyone know when to stand, when to walk and where to go next.
Lights are included with every booking.
We get the wedding party involved for the dinner music at the reception and make sure everyone has the camera ready for the first dances and photograph moments like the toast.
When the dance floor opens DJ OXB reads the crowd and takes requests until last call. Requests can be offered or not, but just incase our worksheet allows the brides to add some DO NOT PLAY songs, artists and genres that they may not particularly like. DJ OXB works with the crowd and makes sure the night is not a bust. If you have dancers in the crowd - DJ OXB will find them. There are no playlists used during the open dance floor hours.

Bottom line DJ OXB will do what you ask for before the special event so that you have all the time to enjoy the event and your guests they way you had your heart set upon.
